Right. I was thinking about stalling this until February 9th, but given some thought this just seemed more appropriate. As of few hours ago Kago Ai just turned 19 years old, and in that regard: Happy birthday, Aibon!
This friday, February 9th, it will be one year since Kago Ai's indefinite suspension from Hello! Project, and still no news about her return. Things aren't looking too good.
Remembering Kago Ai from Morning Musume, Tanpopo, Minimoni and W, I think it would be a understatement to say that that she has been a major personality in Hello! Project. While W really worked as what it was, it may also seem like Tsuji are struggling as a solo-artists.
Even as one of those who arrived late to the whole Hello! Project thing, this just seems sad to me. The fans want Aibon back. Tsuji really doesn't work that well on her own, so she probably wants her old unit back too. And UFA just keeps Aibon out and no word on what the future may hold.
It may be the hardcore wotas that are to blame, it may be the whole Idol-thing. UFA may in that case be just as much a victim of that as Kago Ai herself. Who's to blame? I'm not really touching that.
What I would like to do is this: Coming back or not, I wish Kago Ai good luck with whatever she has up ahead of her. If she's indeed gone for good, she and her sparkling personality and good mood will be missed.
And since I'm posting off-topic anyway, here's some off-topic picture spam you might enjoy.
