Starting october 23rd, presented to you by TV-Tokyo, Yaguchi Mari will star in a new TV-show, "Kanrui! Jikuu times" ("Tears of gratitude! Jikuu times").
At least that's the best I can get out of this japanese announcement on TV-Tokyos official pages. So far, no news on the official Hello! Project pages (at least not as I can find), but I'll take TV-Tokyos word for it.
Starring in the show besides Yaguchi, are Tokumitsu Kazuo & Bibiru Ooki, a former comedian. The show will air weekly, mondays 8pm japanese time. Each episode will be 1 hour long (pressumably with ads), with the first episode being a 2 hour special.
The show will have have different guests, be it talents, athletes or other celebrities. As it seems it will be divided into three main sections.
One will be feature people mentioned in the news. They will look for these people, and discuss their stories over a reenactment of some sort.
Another section will involve "small" news, that is, not the major stories from the national news agencies. This part will feature whatever interesting or moving stories they find in small, local newspapers.
The third part seems to be kids news or something. "Present-day events presented in a exciting and uncomplicated way". No really. I'm pretty sure that's what it says.
Bear in mind, my japanese ain't all that fancy, so I might have gotten quite a few things wrong.
All in all, it seems like a feel-good news show where they focus on people, not the events. I must honestly admit I was hoping her next project would be another dorama, especially after seeing her performance in "Sentou no musume". But, oh well, you don't see me complaining.
I really can't see this show being very typical for Yaguchi's profile, and that it indeed doesn't sound all too exiting in itself, but I'll stall any judgement or comments on that matter until I have seen it. We all know how executing can turn something dull into something exciting and a good idea into crap.
Anyhow, I'm pretty exited about this and how it turns out. Once I know more, I'll put up some updates.
