Major network-reconfiguration

2007.8.25 - Updated 2007.8.25 - Jostein

Ok. Listen up. This weekend I've been busy rerouting my entire network from a parallell Windows and Linux DMZ/INET-front configuration to a Linux only gateway configuration. What? What what what?!?

Ummm.. Basically I've rerouted everything trough one gateway and implemented traffic control, prioritizing the web server above everything. This means I should be able to run torrents at my line's full capacity without it interfering or slowing down the pages for you visitors.

Sounds awesome eh? Be prepared for faster Yaguchi Hitori seeds ;)

Anyway. This is definitely not my area of expertise, so even though I've done some casual testing, I honestly have no idea if this is working or not. Let me know if you have issues or if the pages are slow.

In advance thanks, and happy surfing!

Also: If you for some twisted reason want to read about the actual technical aspects of this, I wrote a piece on my "professional site".
