Good news, everyone! This week's episode is here, right on time. And it's full of samurais and action. We have samurai base-camp and what not. Could we wish for more? Well, yeah, but we'll get to that.
No mail this week, we start right off with this week's movie. Tsubaki Sanjuro (椿三十郞), out December 1st. This seems to be a pretty normal movie samurais, ronins and stuff like that, set in historical Japan. We get the movie covered, and the program starts off.
They talk a little about the movie, Yaguchi does some impressions before the studio all of a sudden is under attack. We have samurais dropping by! Specifically we have Kikuji Ryuuji (菊地竜志) and his crew dropping by. They are here to teach us all the art of fake sword-fighting! I believe we hear Haruki saying "Kakkoii!" at this point ;)
This being a good opportunity to look bad-ass, Haruki naturally volunteers a lot. Watching Yaguchi try is also pretty fun. Let's say she has a few problems striking back at her attacker due to natural reasons ;)
In the end they stage a battle, and the master himself gives Haruki some extra rough treatment before running off with his sunglasses! Yaguchi thinks it was awesome, while Haruki, somewhat exhausted, mentions something about becoming Haruki Sanjuuro :P
Following this the topic is the Yaguchi Hitori Maru-C Cellphone-cinema festival. Whatever happened to that? We get informed that submissions must be in by December 3rd and we will get the winners on Decmber 25th.
Yaguchi is also all excited about it being arranged in Cannes (カンヌ) of all places. To make sure a event this size has a proper announcement, they have one of those balls where scrolls drop out of when opened to make a big announcement out of it.
Yaguchi gets somewhat suspicious when she gets to read the scroll, which says it will be in Kanna (カンナ). "Eh! Isn't this supposed to be nu?!". When shown the "evidence" for them going to "Cannes", she get's even more suspicious.
This part is just great, and just like the opening last week, expect the hosts to go back and forth and Yaguchi literally giving up. The only thing spoken about here is Cannes versus Kanna, yet this is gold! Yaguchi even tries to shake some common sense into Haruki. More than once.
This goes on for minutes. Haruki also has a old clip which makes Yaguchi says "I look like a idiot!". Haruki also puts on a thick dialect making sure to reinforce it (わかんなi), and Yaguchi, originally somewhat upset, can't help start laughing again.
There is also this hilarious phone-call which you shouldn't miss.
Movies covered this episode is Saw 4 (again) and "Kureyon shin chan Arasgu wo yobu - Utau ketsu dake bakudan" (映画クレヨンしんちゃん嵐を呼ぶ 歌うケツだけ爆弾).
So what was the not so good thing I mentioned in the opening there? Some of you may already be thinking "But what about Shimamoto Mai? Where the hell was Maimai?". And you would be right doing so, because that part of the show was not there at all.
Checking the Yaguchi Hitori website for more info, it said that this week there was vacation or something. Hopefully there is no reason to panic just yet ;)
Anyway. The samurai sections was cool. The rest of the show had me lying down laughing 90% of the time. Same applies to Yaguchi. This one is a definitive 5.
