Kinda lagging on updates here on the site, but it's Christmas after all. I'm sure you have better stuff to do than slacking on the internet. Anyway, some things matter to me, and Yaguchi Hitori is one of those things. Behold: Yaguchi Hitori Maru(C) Cellphone Cinema Festival Christmas special! :D
Seeing as they mostly show off the submitted videos and rank a winner, there's not really much to say about this, but I'll try to make a quick summary anyway.
The show opens with Yaguchi and Haruki outdoors, in Kanna, where Yaguchi looks absolutely splendid. Her outfit doesn't really look like a outdoor-outfit though, and she is pretty quick to point out that it's bloody cold there. This totally makes up for the recent Uta Doki's btw :P
Following this we get a walk up to the place where the actual event will be taking place. The locals have made a welcoming committee and besides getting a musical piece performed by the local school orchestra, both of the hosts get flowers and all. Even the major has showed up and hands out a few words.
This is really amusing, given the scale of things. It seems this is one of the bigger things to ever happen in Kanna, and it's even covered by the local TV-stations. On the other hand this is about tiny films recorded using cellphones, and they have a small red carpet and what not.
The way things are played out they are really doing things with full self-irony here. Besides the tiny stereo outfit (with 5.1 sound!) which the judges has to go up to and crowd themselves around to watch the actual movie :P
As for the announcer for the event, who else than Maimai could this be? :D When she announces the prices, Yaguchi goes totally "Eeeeee!!!!!!" and Haruki even comments on her reaction. Sometimes you have to wonder if Yaguchi gets to know anything in advance about the show XD
Anyway. It's really funny. Some of the films submitted are awesome. Like the girl starting a full fledged kung-fu fight over some ice-cream and what not.
There's some other stuff in here, entries made by pro film-makers. Also a rather lengthy coverage of Speed Master. We also have the weekly ent-up corner, but not in studio. Other features are a museum visit, involving dinosaurs and contest involving chasing and picturing a hen, where Yaguchi kinda messes up :P
So if this isn't reason enough for you to download and watch this, I can also add that we get to see Yaguchi's and Haruki's own entries in the contest, and that curry thing finally gets sorted out.

By the way: Next episode seems to be January 8th, so no new-years special. Oh well.
