Happy new year! Marumaru Ai Kora and Nama Yaguchi is back! And for this Midtown TV-posting, I will in fact be covering Yaguchi related stuff! Guest today is Yasuda Kei and topic is largely the Hello! Project 2008 Winter concerts.
So... Show starts with Happy new year and all that, not to mention some semi-SPAM about another GyaO-character getting married this year. And naturally we are all very excited.
After this Yaguchi Kei enters the studio introduces herself as the one who does concerts with Yaguchi. Nice way of putting it! While all very cute, from here on it goes downwards.
We have Nama Yaguchi News, with Yoshizawa Hitomi and Ishikawa Rika from Ongaku Gatas presenting their upcoming live tour (with only 3 dates! wtf!). Following this is more talk, more on the H!P concerts and VTRs with Takahashi Ai from MM, Yajima Maimi from C-ute, Shimizu Saki from Berryz Koubou, Nakazawa Yuko, Abe Natsumi, Matsuura Aya, more Shimizu Saki, more Yahima Maimi, more Takahashi Ai and Niigaki Risa.
Sounds like a massive load of awesomeness, huh? Well it isn't.
To sum up what happens the first 30 minutes:
- Lots of talk, clips and material on H!P 2008 Winter concerts
- Short Clip from Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari Elders Club version at Elders club concert
- Short clip from outside H!P concert at Sun plaza, Nakano with not entirely crazy wota
- Yasuda said Yaguchi got into fights/quarrels all the time in old MM. Yaguchi defends herself by replying "It wasn't like that!". Knowing old-school Yaguchi, I'm not sure I take her word for it ;)
- Lots of talk and VTRs. Takahashi Ai says she want to do tours around Asia.
So lots of not very interesting talk. No action. But around 30 minutes into the show there's is a "Talking and timing challenge" and around here, things starts to get slightly more interesting.
Yasuda does some charming acting, and Yaguchi immitates how Yasuda looked when they did the first cute for the typical hyper-active opening. Yasuda thinks the impression is somewhat unfair and repeats the exact same act, but with a little more flapping hands :D If Yasuda was trying to do a Yaguchi-impression in the first place is still unknown.
We have home-team present a rather vivid if not lifelike samurai warrior impression. Some more talk and to finish it up, we have Yaguchi slipping up and almost calling herself Marumaru Yaguchi.
All in all this was a rather disappointing episode. With Yasuda Kei as a guest, I hoped there would be more interesting talk, maybe some more interesting stories, things to tell, since they are good friends and all.
But it all boiled down to H!P-events, and seemed more like a 40-minute promotion than an entertainment program. Meh. Next week's guests are Abe Natsumi and Yajima Maimi. The Yaguchi Hitori episode with Nacchi was pretty good, so here's hoping next week will be better.
