New week. New episode. Topic is polar-bears, the south-pole. And zombies.
This one start off rather directly with Yaguchi announcing that she has gotten into something new. She holds back what this is, but she shows off some goods right away, and asks Haruki if "it's ok". Haruki soon gets suspicious, as can be seen in the first screenshots. When she is done, she's laughing so much she seems to have trouble breathing. None the less she manages to tell Haruki just how cute he looks XD
After a hilarious first minute, Yaguchi clears up the confusion, should there still be any: She has gotten into cosplay recently. Haruki quickly and bluntly replies that "Well, I haven't gotten into that".
Before Haruki has time to get his Yaguchi-induced cosplay-effects off, Yaguchi shows him some pictures of her doing cosplay. This instantly gets his attention. Now, now... These pictures looks more like Hime-Yaguchi than über-weird cosplay, so Haruki has to ask: "Isn't this just work-related?"
Yaguchi admits it's kinda related to work. He then finds a picture of her in a schoolgirl-outfit, and makes a snide remark about her looking like some Kansai Hostess-club girl (キャバ嬢 for those interested). Yaguchi is quickly on the defensive! XD
Yaguchi says "It's just a schoolgirl!" but Haruki quickly picks up a new picture arguing that this one nails it. Or if she is OK with it to "taken off". My Japanese is rather shady here :P
I should stop writing for a second, but we are now about 1 minute and 45 seconds into the show. Topic returns to cosplay, and Yaguchi lets Haruki explain that he is not into cosplay. Still wearing those silly things :D
This week's movie is Namuu of the North pole (北極のナヌー). It has a polar-bear on the cover and before we get to know anything more about the movie, Yaguchi is already going "Meccha kawaii~~!". Unless I'm mistaken its a "drama" about the life of Namuu, a polar-bear.
After talking a little about the movie, they introduce the guest, Tsuduku Sumiyo. An expert on the polar regions and the south pole as well. This search implies she is somewhat of a tv-personality, but besides that: No idea who she is. She shows the hosts how she went to the south pole, tells us that it is cold there and bla bla :P
We also get to see some video-footage from her expedition. There's a slight South-pole quiz before we move on to the Maimai-corner.
Maimai has picked Zombino, a zombie movie (:P), as the movie of the week. This looks like one of the subtler zombie-movies I have seen in a long time. Definitely a lot more chill than Shaun of the dead ;)
Introducing this week's challenge Maimai kinda fezzes up and calls Frankenstein a zombie, but her Frankenstein impersonation is just that good, so all is cool :P Anyway the quiz is "Rotten thing blend quiz" (腐った物ブレンド). Now this sounds interesting! Having the quiz announced, Haruki is all hyper while Yaguchi is complaining already ;)
Getting the rules explained: Icky things will go in a mixer. Yaguchi and Haruki each get a sample. They are to guess the contents. Maimai also is to taste this horrible mess she has made. For some odd reason, in parts, Maimai looks like she is having a surprisingly good time here :D
Also covered this week is Hoshi no Ouji New York He Iku (星の王子 ニューヨークへ行く). Yeah, same as last week. We also have one, Onee-chanbara THE MOVIE (お姉チャンバラ THE MOVIE), which seems to feature everything from schoolgirls to sexy cowgirl-ninjas, and boy am I excited about this one :D
For the record chanbara (チャンバラ) means swordfight so this is obviously a girlpower play on words :D
All in all I loved this episode. The south-pole was kinda snore, but apart from that great all the way. I just lost a bid for some awesome Perfume concert-tickets, so I'm kinda cranky. Therefore this episode will have to take a 4 and be happy it :P
