First thing I noticed when I tried to watch this one, was that it was all food. Trying not to repeat my mistakes, I turned it off, got some food, got some coffee and then returned to watch it. Watching Japanese shows full of food on an empty stomach is a bad idea. Especially when they mention "Gourmet" within the 10 first seconds.
In the show you have two teams: the guest team and the host team. Apart from Yaguchi, the other guest is Katsumata Kunikazu (勝俣州和).
The show itself is one giant food battle. There are four different sections where the different teams must meet different goals, and whoever gets closest wins. The winning team will receive some a bonus meal, while the losing team are subject to various (rather mild) punishment games.
There are four different battles all together.
- Make a plate of 500 grams of food (crab)
- Make a 150 kcal desert
- Sushi for 5000 yen
- Making a 180cc juice from raw fruits
While I wont spoil the outcome, what I will say is that Yaguchi is acting just like the Musumes do in Hello! Morning when they get to watch others eat food but don't get any themselves. It's pretty amusing.
While the punishment games are rather mild by Japanese standards, whoever basicly gets to make a fool of themselves by trying to do improvised jokes or impressions. Yaguchi even gets forced to imitate Haruki from Yaguchi Hitori!
