This week's Yaguchi Hitori is out and I manage to forget about it?!? The shame! Jostein arrives late for his "job" for the second time today :P
Personally I blame the most excellent weather we have in Oslo right now, making me think about nothing besides BBQing, drinking beer and digging in the sun, but enough about that. We have a episode to skim!
This week's episode is all about music or sounds. The feature movie, Once, is centred around a street-musician in Dublin playing guitar, a female fan he acquires, which turns out to be a piano player, and the sweet music which comes out of this.
After some casual fooling around, where Haruki has to start excusing himself (Chigai desu yo!) a small competition is introduced. For this they need some assistance.
Some girl in the studio will play a few songs on cassette-tape, CD and LP. Yaguchi and Haruki are to guess medium and song.
I'm pretty sure all of you will get the songs (all themes from American movies), and Yaguchi thinks this is kinda hard. But I guess that if I got fed three big Japanese movie-themes I might be struggling a little as well ;)
Even though Haruki gets it wrong, he talks about the virtues of cassette-tape with passion. Something about double decks and all :P
Following this is a section with rakugoka (落語家) or comical story telling, if you like. The hosts are presented different odd sentences and are to decide which one is done by real story teller, and you know, not fake :P
Following this, it's the same thing, except they have to judge with laughter is real. The hosts' answers teaches me a new word: Aiso (愛想) which means courtesy. They hosts have detected courtesy laughter!
The batsugames if they get it wrong (and they get it wrong) is listening to some guy (MA's Tari-san) chewing, gum-chewing no less. No really! Both Yaguchi and Haruki finds this one utterly disgusting :D
Also: After Haruki almost throws away the headset he has been handed, Yaguchi insists he should listen even more :D
Maimai's recommendation in this week's weekly entup corner seems a tad boring. It's called "Diver" (ダイバ) and is about elite divers training for the Olympics. In other words: Lots of absolutely wicked diving-related suspense :P
Her challenge this week, as usual, is a play on words, but apart from beginning with daibu (as in dive and as in "considerably"), I honestly didn't get this one.
Who cares about specifics? Yaguchi looks good, Maimai looks good, and Haruki is most eager to tell us that he ready for the task at hand. This is all looking good ;)
Getting a shot at the hosts prepared for the game, the game turns out to be less fun than expected, but it's still not too bad: Basically the hosts have their head rested on a table, seeing only briefly what Maimai throws down from a utility-ladder. I guess this can vaguely pass as a divers referee-test or something :P
Besides Maimai doing a failed toss one time, no doubt this thing moves fast: Haruki mistakes a Rubrix-cube for a Manjuu :D
In entertainment flash, a few movies are covered, briefly as always: Sakigake!! Otoko juuku (魁!!男塾) and Midnight Eagle (ミッドナイトエーグル).
This episode wasn't half bad, but due to rushing it, I'm sure I missed out lots of the small jokes that's usually in here. Probably worth a better rating than I'm tossing out ;)
I did lots of awesome screenshots this time, but despite that, you guys are still getting a torrent. Ain't I the nicest of nice guys, eh? ;)
