There was no Yaguchi Hitori last week, so I'm sure you are all pleased to hear that this week, Yaguchi Hitori is back on the air, and so should the summaries be :)

After a brief "Happy new year!" show starts and we get this week's movie: James Bond - Quantum of solace (Japanese title 007 / 慰めの報酬). In other words nothing new or fancy from Japan.

Yaguchi seems to like western action-heroes and Daniel Craig is no exception. She also calls this a "Hard boiled action movie". Maybe she is secretly a fan of John Woo's early work :)

The discuss how Daniel Craig didn't have stand ins for stunts before introducing the guest: Kiriu Masayuki (桐生正幸). He starts off talking about his job: profiling.

The hosts pays close attention and Haruki has some questions. After he goes in depth about being a veteran vs a newb, Haruki comments that this is "almost like a dorama"! They talk about profiling for a decent while, but hardly super-interesting.

In the end they move on to a in studio profiling-game. They are to uncover something from checking out a wallet, using "FBI methods" of all things! They have quite a few leads, and will have to single out the owner among three guys.

Haruki is first out: The guy has a card from a manga-cafe, so he's obviously an otaku. He lists a few points and his reasons for it.

Yaguchi also gives it a go: She starts off with saying that the guy obviously has to be young. She has also noticed the manga-cafe card, but for some strange reason don't call out on it as otakuism ;)

After they've had some help grouping their observations to make more sense out of them, their candidates are presented. The hosts are allowed to ask them one question each. Yaguchi asks what their favourite manga is, but one of them doesn't even like manga. Haruki, initially not too happy about the question, is immediately more happy.

Unless I'm mitaken, Haruki's question is simply "are you seeing a girl?", and Yaguchi starts giggling. Not revealing if they get it right or not, they all conclude "profiling is fun!"

We move on to the weekly entertainment corner and ... in my point of view this is why you want to watch this episode.

Maimai's recommended movie this week is Shine a light, a Rolling stones "live documentary", as Haruki puts it. Maimai always has a challenge related to the movie and this time they get handed electric guitars! Haruki comments that the time has finally come for Yaguchi to show her skills, ofcourse referring the episode last fall when she said she had started playing guitar.

They get off quite lightly (I play guitar myself :P) but this rather hilarious part is slightly with a short tsutaya visit by Maimai. Recomendation is GROW 愚郎.

Anyway. Quite a slow episode, but I guess we all like a slow start on the new year. If you can't be bothered with the profiling bit, I still recommend the Weekly entup corner. Quite amazing :D
