Today was the last performance of Damn Yankees. This according to multiple sources, including the Yaguchi Hitori homepage.
I have so far been unable to find any proper reviews of it, so I don't know how well it was received. But given how Yaguchi have been given a lead in a new musical performance, it can't have been that bad!

Today former Morning Musume member Ishiguro Aya, or Ayappe if you like, went to see the Damn Yankees musical. At least according to ampedechoz and her official blog.
Doesn't really say too much though, apart from the fact that she went to see the musical and that she enjoyed it. The songs, the dances and all that.
Even though it may seem like the musical has gotten quite some attention, you can see in the comments that at least one person is asking what the hell "Damn Yankees" is :P

Yaguchi Mari on what I think is Fuji-TV's Bunka Geinoubu (Supernews). Copy and pasted directly from Mattthecat's torrent.
Mari is interviewed during a "Damn Yankees" PC or sumthin, the Mikitty "scandal" being the subject it seems (which of course would be obvious given her own experiences)
As for those wanting Yaguchi back in the music business, yes she is singing in this musical, as seen in this clip. Check the screenshots if you like.

Yaguchi Mari has been here before a few times already and then some, but here she is again. This makes it her forth visit to this show, and topic is naturally the musical which she will be starring in, Damn Yankees.
No big segment of the show, but at least it gets mentioned. While I missed this musical by the day while in Japan, it's good to see that it gets some publicity.
What is on this weeks show is Yaguchi talking about the musical and we get to see some of the preperations.

Just another appearance as we are getting closer to the actual premier of the show. This time the cast is covered in more detail than last time, which seemed to be more of a press-conference only. Also covered is a Japanese version of another Broadway musical, "Millie".
There is a short presentation of the cast, including Yaguchi as the reporter Gloria Thorpe, before a DVD version of the original American version of musical is presented. We also get to know when it opens, where to go and how much it will cost. (Like I've already mentioned, I'm missing this one by hours when I'm visiting Tokyo in May. Gah!)

Ampedechoz reported this on JPM. Yaguchi Mari appeared on this show, and the topic was her upcoming musical, Damn Yankees.
The Fuji-TV homepage for the show seems to have a little more data, but not much. So I don't really know too much about the appearance, especially since I don't have video or audio of the event.

Yaguchi and some of the other actors on the Damn yankees musical recently held a press conference.
Once again, they make a big deal about how Yaguchi is smaller than everyone else, and by now we gotta believe it's intentional. Maybe they'll play on that in the actual performance. Who knows.
While not the only one, Yaguchi talks a little about the musical and the preparations and mentions something about recieving some "secret boots" and how that has helped her prepare. I'm kinda busy until wednesday, so I don't have time to even do a dirty translation of this.

No, seriously. For those who wants to see her getting back to music this is probably good news, although not just yet.
She will perform the musical "Damn yankees", originally from the 1950s, starting May 25th this year. If this is for real I know quite a few people who will be quite happy about this move!
